Ready for a fresh challenge at this point in your ministry?
Full-time solo pastor, seasoned in ministry within the New England context, needed for our small, committed, ‘mustard seed’ Southern Baptist congregation currently embarking on revitalization. We are serious about our faith, committed to the Word, blended in worship, humble in style, growing in fellowship, and seeking hands-on ways to bring God’s transforming love to our neighbors, both in the various towns where we live, and here in West Peabody.
Great opportunity for a well-rounded shepherd experienced in starting small, who will bring his energy, passion, gifts, ideas and connections, along with a single-minded focus to lead us in God’s work here, to rebuild the church and increase its effectiveness in reaching the community with the Gospel.
God’s next man for us will
Love the Lord, His Word, His people, and the lost, and have the desire, skills and experience to lead us in connecting intentionally, practically and compassionately with each other and
with unbelievers in the surrounding community through hospitality and outreach.
Lead by godly personal example, preach and teach the Word accurately and accessibly, provide strong pastoral care and biblical counsel, integrate well in Body Life, disciple believers at
all levels of spiritual maturity, encourage and equip leaders, help hone and implement new ministry vision and structures, and collaborate with local churches to mobilize outreach for a new season of
ministry.
Be balanced in temperament, able to relate well with a variety of people, and actively work to bring our mainly introverted flock out of itself. He will have a vibrant faith-walk
and strong administrative, communication, and strategic-planning skills. He will share
our spirit of anticipation and heart for ministering to those in need.
Be intuitive and pro-active in assessing our situation in order to quickly motivate us, individually and collectively, to implement existing plans and develop new strategies for outreach and discipleship, with an eye toward reviving a solid, cohesive and life-giving ministry here.
M. Div. preferred. Musical ability helpful. Youth/Young Adult experience a plus. Modest salary and on-site parsonage with pastor’s study (utilities included). Candidates outside the SBC will be considered (agreement with ‘Baptist Faith and Message,’ 2000, required).
